Two barbers, a Knaphill pizza takeaway and a dog daycare are among 71 companies set up in Woking borough postcodes this month. Five firms are in insolvency notices.
Seventy-one new companies were registered in Woking borough between 1 and 24 September 2026, according to Companies House. They include two barbers, a pizza takeaway in Knaphill, a dog boarding business and a padel club company.
We counted every company incorporated in that period with a registered office in a GU21, GU22 or KT14 postcode. Those three postcode districts cover Woking town, its villages, and Byfleet and West Byfleet. Companies registered to Send, Ripley or Chobham have a “Woking” postal address but sit in Guildford or Surrey Heath boroughs, so we left them out.
The ones you might walk past
Most new companies are not shops. But a handful carry a name or a nature of business that points to something on a high street:
- Darin Barber Shop Knapill Ltd, registered 14 September at a High Street address in Knaphill. Its nature of business is hairdressing. The register spells the village “Knapill”.
- West Byfleet Barber Ltd, registered 1 September in West Byfleet, also hairdressing.
- Knaphill Pizza Limited, registered 4 September in Knaphill, as a takeaway food shop.
- West Byfleet Dog Boarding & Daycare Limited, registered 23 September. Despite the name, its registered office is a unit on the Lansbury Estate on Lower Guildford Road, Knaphill.
- Acapulco Padel Co Ltd, registered 1 September, listed under sports clubs and other sports activities.
- Lumma Living Ltd, registered 2 September in West Byfleet, as a furniture and lighting retailer.
- Visi La Vita CIC, registered 18 September. It is a community interest company, a type of company set up to benefit the community rather than shareholders.
A registration is not an opening. The register records where a company’s official address is and what it says it will do. It does not tell you whether a shop has opened, taken over an existing business or not started trading yet. Many one-person companies are registered at an accountant’s office or the owner’s home.
What kind of companies they are
We grouped each company by the first nature of business it gave Companies House:

A few details stand out:
- Retail is mostly online. Five of the 14 retail companies describe themselves as mail-order or internet retailers. Two more, including Hubdub Camper Limited, are registered to sell used cars and light motor vehicles.
- Two sets of leaseholders have organised. Veydon RTM Company and Carrington Freehold are both residents’ property management companies in GU22. An “RTM” company is how leaseholders use their legal right to manage their building. Neither filing names the block.
- GU21 leads. Thirty-three companies are in GU21, which covers the town centre, Goldsworth Park, St Johns, Knaphill and Horsell. GU22 has 26, and KT14 has 12.
Companies in insolvency notices
Five companies with Woking borough addresses appeared in insolvency notices in The Gazette, the official public record, between 10 and 21 September:
- Drinksone Ltd was wound up by order of the County Court at Guildford on 10 July 2026, on a petition filed on 30 March. The notice appeared on 10 September. The Official Receiver is dealing with the company.
- MWM Engineering Limited, trading as Innovus Engineering, resolved on 2 September to go into creditors’ voluntary liquidation. Its registered office is in West Byfleet but its trading address is in Steyning, West Sussex, about 30 miles south.
- RAQ SW Ltd faced a winding-up petition from HM Revenue and Customs, presented on 31 July and listed for the High Court on 23 September. No outcome had been published by 24 September.
- Bartek Builders Ltd, which trades from St Johns, is asking creditors to nominate a liquidator at a virtual meeting on 28 September. Members consider a resolution to wind up the company the same day.
- Bazmac UK Limited of West Byfleet is in members’ voluntary liquidation from 11 September. That is a solvent closure: the liquidator’s notice says “it is anticipated that all known creditors will be paid in full” (notice).
A winding-up petition is a claim, not a finding, and a company can pay the debt or contest it. Only a court order winds a company up.

- Owed money by a company in the list above? Each Gazette notice names the liquidator or Official Receiver and gives the contact details for sending a claim. Bazmac UK’s liquidator has set a deadline of 21 October 2026 for claims.
