Woking's Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026 at the Jubilee Square war memorial. Last year the service began 10.35am, silence at 11am, march past after.

Remembrance Sunday 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November. Woking’s borough service is held at the war memorial in Jubilee Square, in the town centre. The council has not yet published its 2026 order of service. In both 2023 and 2025 the service started at 10.35am, the two-minute silence was at 11am, and a march past in Church Street East followed once the service ended at about 11.30am.

Armistice Day itself is Wednesday 11 November 2026.

The 2023 festival followed the same shape: a 10.35am start, the silence and wreaths, then uniformed units marching past the Mayor and civic party in Church Street East (Woking Borough Council, 3 November 2023).

Road closure

In 2023 the council closed Church Street East to vehicles from 8am to 12 noon on Remembrance Sunday for the assembly and the march past. Plan on the same for 2026 until the council confirms. Laying a wreath

In 2023 the council asked anyone wishing to lay a wreath, individual or organisation, to make themselves known to the wreath announcer by 10am. Each organisation was asked to nominate one representative and assemble in Church Street East by 9.50am. Expect the same arrangements unless the 2026 notice says otherwise.

Armistice Day

In 2023, when 11 November fell on a Saturday, the Mayor and invited guests held a two-minute silence in Jubilee Square at 11am, and the public were invited. Whether there will be a public gathering in Jubilee Square on Wednesday 11 November 2026 has not been announced.

Services in the villages

Byfleet, Knaphill, Old Woking, Horsell and other villages have their own war memorials, and some hold their own services. None has published 2026 details yet. We will add them to this page as they appear.
