Victoria Place gives out free pumpkins on Wed 28 Oct, Oasis Play throws Halloween parties on 30 and 31 Oct, and Crockford Bridge Farm's pumpkin festival is £14.
Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October 2026, the last day of a two-week half term for Woking schools on the Surrey calendar. The free thing worth planning around is at Victoria Place: children can pick a free pumpkin on Wednesday 28 October, if you register first. The ticketed party is Oasis Play’s on the Friday and Saturday evenings, and the pumpkin patch is at Crockford Bridge Farm on New Haw Road, Addlestone, the nearest pick-your-own patch.

Oasis Play: the not so scary party
Oasis Play in the Peacocks Centre, GU21 6GD, runs its Not So Scary Halloween Party on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, 5pm to 7pm. The ticket covers a Halloween disco, a haunted house, soft play, face painting, pumpkin carving and gunge tanks, and costumes are encouraged. Spaces are limited and booking is through oasisplay.co.uk; the price was not on the listing (Victoria Place).
The Lightbox: crafts, painting and a pay what you wish day
The gallery on Chobham Road, GU21 4AA, has three Halloween sessions over half term:
- The Art Escape Halloween Crafts, Saturday 24 October, sessions at 2pm and 3.15pm. For ages three and up, £8 a ticket, booked with The Art Escape (Lightbox).
- Halloween Family Day, Wednesday 28 October. Drop-in spooky crafts in the first-floor education studio from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm, an art cart in the café, and pay what you wish entry all day (Lightbox).
- Haunted Mansion Workshop, Thursday 29 October, 1.30pm to 3pm. A guided painting session for 7 to 12 year olds, £16 a child; up to two adults go free, and one must stay with any child aged 10 or under (Lightbox).
Wednesday 28 October is the day to combine: free pumpkins at Victoria Place and the Lightbox’s family day both run in the town centre.
Pumpkin picking: Crockford Bridge Farm
There is no pick-your-own pumpkin field in Woking borough itself. The nearest is Crockford Bridge Farm, New Haw Road, Addlestone KT15 2BU, and its picking season is short (Crockford Bridge Farm):
- Dates: Saturday 3 to Sunday 18 October. The farm closes its fields before the end of October to protect the crop from frost, so there is no picking in the second week of half term.
- Price: £7.50 plus a booking fee, for everyone over one. Timed entry, advance booking only, no tickets on the door. Pumpkins are paid for separately at the exit.
- No dogs in the fields and no buggies; bring bags and, if you can, your own trolley. Parking is free, in the field car park rather than the garden centre’s.
- No refunds or changes for rain. Street food runs on picking weekends only.
From Tuesday 20 to Saturday 31 October, 10am to 5pm, the farm’s Pumpkin Boutique sells pre-picked pumpkins with no booking needed, until they sell out.
The Wonderland Pumpkin Festival
The same farm’s half-term event is a theatrical one this year: the Wonderland Pumpkin Festival, Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October (Crockford Bridge Farm). Actors and circus performers lead a two-hour Alice in Wonderland storyline with a pumpkin hunt, croquet, vintage fairground games and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with a DJ, plus a fancy dress competition.
- Sessions: 10am to 12pm, 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 5pm each day. Arrive 15 minutes early.
- Price: £14 plus a booking fee for every adult and child (early bird £12). Under-ones are free but carry a £2 booking fee. Booking is essential and non-refundable.
- Best for children aged four and over. Pumpkins, food, face painting and fairground rides cost extra.
For grown-ups: a horror writer at the library
Creating Nightmares, an author talk with the horror writer Don Campbell, is at Woking Library, Gloucester Walk, on Tuesday 27 October, 6pm to 7pm. Free, booked through Eventbrite (Surrey Libraries).
Getting there
Victoria Place, the Peacocks Centre and the Lightbox are all in the town centre. The Victoria Place multi-storeys are the closest parking; daytime and evening rates are on our parking in Woking page. Check the roadworks page before driving out to Addlestone.
And the week after
Woking’s fireworks are a week later, on Saturday 7 November, with displays in Woking Park and Knaphill on the same night: see Woking fireworks. Everything else on over half term, including Dinosaurs Live at Woking Theatre on 31 October, is on what’s on in Woking and our October half term page.
Checked on 3 October 2026 against the Victoria Place, Lightbox, Surrey Libraries and Crockford Bridge Farm pages linked above. If an organiser adds a Halloween event or a session sells out, this page will be updated.
