For Christmas Day in Woking, the lowest published prices are at the two Ember Inns pubs, the Wheatsheaf on Chobham Road and the Sovereigns on Guildford Road (£71.95 each). The Cricketers at Horsell Birch does a £99 carvery, and the Drumming Snipe at Mayford and the Anchor at Pyrford Lock charge £110 and £112.50. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own site on 1 November 2026.

We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the price on the venue’s own Christmas menu, what that includes, when it is served and what the venue says about deposits and booking, plus the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating. One date matters now: the Drumming Snipe wants Christmas Day pre-orders by 2 November.

1. The Wheatsheaf, Chobham Road

The Wheatsheaf is the Ember Inns pub on Chobham Road at the Horsell end of town, with hotel rooms upstairs. Its Christmas page offers three courses on Christmas Day at £71.95 for adults and £35.95 for children.

The menu it names includes the “Ultimate Christmas Duo”, a grilled salmon and a festive hand-carved roast beef. On other days the pub has a festive set menu through December at £22.99 for two courses (£9.99 for children), a Boxing Day menu at £32.50 and a Breakfast with Santa at £12.99 a head.

Ember’s deposit page asks for £10 a head on Christmas Day, with full payment and pre-order by 1 December.

2. The Sovereigns, Guildford Road

The Sovereigns is the second Ember Inns pub in Woking, on Guildford Road south of the town centre, and it runs the same Christmas programme as the Wheatsheaf at the same prices. Its Christmas page lists three courses on Christmas Day at £71.95 for adults and £35.95 for children, a festive set menu through December at £22.99 for two courses, and a Boxing Day menu at £32.50.

Deposits follow Ember’s group rules: £5 a head for the festive menu and £10 a head on Christmas Day, with the balance and food choices due by 1 December.

3. The Cricketers, Horsell Birch

The Cricketers is the Barons Pub Company pub at Horsell Birch. Its Christmas page sets out a Christmas Day carvery at £99 a head, served from 12pm to 1.30pm for pre-booked tables only, with roast turkey, a vegan root vegetable Wellington, a venison casserole and a broccoli and Stilton gnocchi bake among the mains.

A cheese course adds £10. Children under 12 pay £47.50 for three courses and get a festive activity pack.

The pub asks for a £40 deposit a head and everyone’s food choices by Monday 14 December, and adds a discretionary 10% service charge. Walk-ins are welcome for drinks until 3pm on the day.

In December the Christmas Celebration Menu is £27.95 for two courses or £34.95 for three, with 20% off on selected dates for bookings made by 13 November.

4. The Drumming Snipe, Mayford

The Drumming Snipe is on Guildford Road at Mayford and describes itself as “taking hospitality back to its roots”. Its Christmas Day 2026 menu is £110 a head and £55 for children under 12.

It opens with prawn toast, cheddar croquettes and ham hock pasties for the table, then starters such as venison carpaccio or cured trout with crab, and mains of Norfolk turkey, Devonshire duck breast, Torbay monkfish, a cauliflower steak or a woodland mushroom and chestnut pie, with roast potatoes, sprouts, cauliflower cheese and parsnips for every table. The menu says pre-orders are required by 2 November 2026.

Christmas lunch is for pre-booked tables, and the bar takes walk-ins for drinks from 12pm to 3pm.

5. The Anchor, Pyrford Lock

The Anchor is the Hall & Woodhouse pub beside Pyrford Lock on the River Wey Navigation, reached from Lock Lane in Pyrford or from the Wisley side, and it says four-legged guests are welcome. Its Christmas page links a Christmas Day menu at £112.50 for three courses, with starters such as a smoked salmon parcel filled with smoked mackerel pâté and mains including a roast turkey paupiette with a pig in blanket and a beetroot Wellington.

A children’s Christmas Day menu for ages 10 and under is £35. The Celebration menu for December is £38.50 for three courses and is served from 18 November.

6. The Royal Oak, Pirbright

The Royal Oak is the Greene King pub on Aldershot Road in Pirbright, about four miles west of Woking town centre in Guildford borough. Its Christmas Day page offers three courses for £78, with mains of hand-carved roast turkey with a pig in blanket and Yorkshire pudding, a seafood duo of salmon and tiger prawns, a sirloin with prawns, a cranberry-glazed nut roast and a cheddar and leek tart, and a mince pie with tea or coffee to finish.

There is a separate children’s Christmas Day menu, though the page does not show its price. A deposit of £10 a head, adult or child, secures the booking.

7. The Red Lion, Horsell

The Red Lion is on Horsell High Street and has an enclosed, heated barn and a covered terrace. Its Christmas page says the Christmas Day restaurant is already fully booked; the bar opens for drinks from 12pm to 2.30pm and the pub is closed that evening and on Boxing Day.

For December the Christmas party menu is £39.95 for three courses, served to pre-booked parties of 1 to 50 from Monday 23 November to Wednesday 23 December (not Sunday lunchtimes), with roast turkey, beef bourguignon, a vegan haggis Wellington, pork belly and sea bass among the mains. A discretionary 10% service charge is added.

8. The Bird in Hand, Mayford

The Bird in Hand is on Egley Road at Mayford. Its Christmas page says it opens for drinks only on Christmas Day (11am to 2pm) and is closed from 26 to 29 December, but its Christmas set menu runs through December at £31.50 for two courses or £38.50 for three, with roasted turkey crown, pork belly, sea bass, braised duck leg and a vegan beetroot, chickpea and mushroom roulade among the mains.

The pub is offering 20% off food on the set menu from 18 to 25 November, with a pre-order.

These are the places people search for when booking Christmas dinner in Woking, chosen on the public record rather than on taste: a Christmas menu with prices published on the venue’s own site for 2026, and the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating (every venue here is rated 4 or 5). We left out places we could not check on 1 November 2026: the Inn at Maybury takes Christmas Day bookings with a £10 deposit but its menu carries no price; Côte publishes a national Christmas Day price but nothing specific to its Woking restaurant; the Princess in Maybury shows no Christmas menu that we could read; and the Garibaldi in Knaphill serves no food on Christmas Day.
